Hi, I’m Noor Bchara

I'm the founder of NOORISM, a repurposed denim brand where we create new, elevated pieces from second hand jeans. I'm an adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where I teach about Upcycling and Repurposed design. My goal as a designer is to keep as many garments out of landfills as possible. My mission is to inspire and educate people on Upcycling and Repurposed design and how to do it on a bigger scale.

"As a fashion brand founder, creative director and woman entrepreneur, I always find myself stuck between helping my world and environment and creating a fashion brand (as business). I tried hard to use the upcycling concept with a preliminary knowledge about it within my high couture brand. I was always afraid to start my fast fashion line before knowing how shall I save the world from my waste and toxic material; knowing that my passion industry is the 3rd most polluting industry in the world. The upcycling course turned my business vision into reality. It helped me to create a solid ground for my fashion business and to be able to be a sustainable brand helping its own world while creating its own identity. Also, it allowed me to understand what’s behind the upcycling concept in terms of business and operations with maximum optimization and deep development. It was a great experience that helped me finalize my Business close circle. Thank you Noor for helping me reach my vision."
